Art that
breathes
slowly.

Living artworks that evolve over hours. Not animation. Not a screen. A presence — suspended in time, displayed on E Ink.

The Premise

What is
slow
digital
art?

Most screens measure their success in seconds. The feed refreshes. The algorithm updates. The notification arrives. Every element of digital experience is engineered to interrupt you — to recapture your gaze before it drifts.

Slow digital art works from the opposite premise.

"A slow work changes on a timescale you cannot track while you're watching it."

A slow digital work has a cycle — hours, not milliseconds. You don't observe it changing. You observe, hours later, that it has changed. The experience is closer to living with a houseplant than watching a video. It requires nothing of you except that you share a room with it.

Each piece is a sequence of discrete frames — each imperceptibly different from the last. Displayed on E Ink: a medium that looks like paper, requires no backlight, and draws almost no power. A complete natural phenomenon, unfolding over hours.

This is not a tech product. It is a studio practice. The founding collection is the first result of that practice — and 25 people will own each piece. 150 in total, across six works.

Intentional
time made
visible.

Praxis means deliberate action — art made with full awareness of why. Not content. Not a feed. Not stimulation. A single work, chosen with care, changing so slowly you begin to question whether it changed at all.

Each piece runs through a complete lifecycle over hours. A mushroom emerges, grows, and returns to earth. Clouds drift, converge, dissolve. The tide comes and retreats. The candle burns down.

You don't watch it. You live alongside it.

"People don't want more screens. They want something that exists with them over time."
— The Praxis Manifesto

What is
Praxis?

Praxis (Greek: πρᾶξις) is deliberate action — doing something with full awareness of why. It is the opposite of habit. The opposite of consumption. It is the name we chose because every decision here was made on purpose.

We make slow digital art. Works that evolve over hours, not seconds. Works that reward patience. Works that ask nothing of you except that you share a room with them.

Each piece is a sequence of frames — each imperceptibly different from the last. Displayed on E Ink, a medium that looks like paper, requires no backlight, and draws almost no power. A complete phenomenon, unfolding over hours.

This is not a tech product. It is a studio practice. The founding collection is the first result of that practice — and 25 people will own each piece. 150 in total, across six works.
